Basic Expectations:
• Have a clear vision for leading worship.
• Plan, prepare, and lead the music for Sunday morning and evening worship services.
• Usually, four songs in a service. Recommend 2 hymns, 1 contemporary song, and an invitation song. Open to vision and philosophy from candidate.
• The plan should encourage congregational singing and participation in worship.
• Candidate can sing and preferably play an instrument for leading music (piano and/or guitar). CD music is also an option.
• Prepare and work within annual budget for music worship ministries.
• Work with the Pastor to develop the worship service order and flow, including the use of music, media, drama, message and audio/visual. Especially give appropriate input regarding musical selections, including placement, flow, transitions, mood, etc.
• Work with the Pastor in creating/coordinating special services like Christmas and Easter.
• We expect this to take about 10-15 hours a week for planning, preparation, practice and two services on Sunday.
Music Ministry Goals:
•Seek to motivate congregational participation in the music ministry.
• Such as singing, choir, instruments, sound booth, etc.
• Plan, coordinate and direct rehearsals with music ministry volunteers.
• Oversee issues involving audio and video equipment necessary for the music ministry and leading worship in services. Recommend equipment repairs, purchases, or upgrades.
General Staff Expectations:
• Adhere to the church Constitution, By-Laws, and official policies and procedures.
