Music Minister

Music Minister for Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, 2712 Trotwood Ave., Columbia, TN 38401

Position Summary:

• Devoted follower of Christ
• Man of character and integrity who views this position as a calling from God.
• Life purpose, philosophy and doctrine must be compatible with that of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church
• Music will be used to draw people into the presence of God through powerful, Christ-centered blended worship.
• This person will lead and shepherd worship leaders, oversee planning, execution and communication with volunteers.

Responsibilities:

• Along with pastor, plan and prepare weekly worship services and congregational events.
• Enlist, develop, train and supervise volunteer vocalists and instrumentalists.
• Fascilitate choirs, ensembles, instrumental ensembles.
• Lead in research, development and selection of music ministry resources in accordance with church curriculum plans including annual budgets.
• Lead with strong vocal and instrumental ability, effectively directing the congregation and fellow musicians to worship God.
• Coordinate Christ-exalting music for all worship services and events by choosing songs that will engage all generations, support the preaching of God's Word, and coordinate with the calendar and emphases of the church.
• Considerable sensitivity is required to insure respect for the diversity between traditional and contemporary music.
• Supervise and ccordinate the use and maintenance of sound, lights, and live streaming.
• Serve as a member of the Pastoral staff and assist in pastoral care.

Education & Experience:

A bachelor's degree is preferred, with 3-5 years of experience working in Worship and Music in a church of comparable size is preferred.
