Westside Baptist Church is seeking to hire a dedicated and passionate KKLC Director to oversee their Kingdom Kids Learning Center.
KKLC Director Job Requirements: The KKLC Director should:
- Meet education or certification standards set by the state of Kentucky. (see list below)
- Have previous childcare or kindergarten experience, preferably as a lead teacher and/or as a school administrator.
- Have an Understanding of child development principles and the best practices in early childhood education.
- Organizational skills with the attention to detail in effectively managing multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Embody leadership and supervisory abilities.
- Be or become a member of Westside Baptist Church.
KKLC Director Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the KKLC Director include:
- Oversight and implementation of the school curriculum in consultation with the church’s Kids Ministry Director.
- Hire all KKLC staff with the advice and consent of the Board.
- Terminate KKLC staff, when necessary, upon approval of the Board.
- Supervise all KKLC staff while working.
- Maintain safe financial controls as directed by the Board.
- Conduct periodic written evaluations of all staff members.
- Maintain all required State of Kentucky forms and licenses.
- Conduct all daily KKLC operations.
- Meet with prospective parents.
- Promote positive publicity, the public image, and media events for KKLC.
- Supervise the relationships between staff, parents, support personnel, and students.
- Attend Board and church staff meetings.
- Ensure that all staff maintain all required State education and certificate requirements.
- Operate the KKLC within its budgetary constraints.
- Ensure purchases of all supplies, equipment, utilities, and fees necessary for classes.
- Teach students in a classroom setting as needed.
- Oversee events, including fundraisers and other community events.
State Qualifications
All candidates must have one of the following options:
- Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education and Development.
- Associate's degree or higher in a field other than Early Childhood Education and Development, including a degree in pastoral care and counseling. Also, must have 12 hours of child development training (may use TRIS record as proof) OR three years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school based program following Dept. of Education guidelines, an early childhood development program such as Head Start or a licensed or certified child care program (certified home provider). Also, please note that this requires “verifiable” full-time paid experience; i.e., must have written letters from past employers stating that they worked in a full-time position directly with children from start date to last date of employment.
- A director’s credential in Early Childhood Development and, must have one year of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program following Dept. of Education guidelines, an early childhood development program such as Head Start or a licensed or certified child care program (certified home provider).
- A child development associate (CDA) also, must have one year of verifiable paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program following Dept. of Education guidelines, an early childhood development program such as Head Start or a licensed or certified child care program (certified home provider).
- A high school diploma and must have three years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program following Dept. of Education guidelines, an early childhood development program such as Head Start or a licensed or certified child care program (certified home provider). Also, please note that this requires “verifiable” full-time paid experience; i.e. must have written letters from past employers stating that they worked in a full-time position directly with children from start date to last date of employment.
