Church Background

Historic, Dover Baptist Church located in Northern Shelby County, Kentucky, was established in 1812. Dover Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Shelby County Baptist Association. The church averages 60-70 members for Sunday morning service, and approximately 20-25 for Sunday School. Prior to Covid, regular attendance was pushing 100+ members each Sunday.  Dover currently has a Worship Minister and a Youth Minister on staff. Dover has an active youth group and children’s group that meets each Wednesday night along with regularly scheduled Bible Study and adult choir practice. We also faithfully support state, national and international missions. The campus at Dover consists of the beautiful sanctuary built in 1887, the educational section of the church added in 1970, the parsonage was built in 1989, and the Family Life Center has been added since then. Dover is on a sound financial footing and there is no dissension in the church. The pastor’s position is open because our previous pastor retired after many years of service to The Lord.
