A Growing Conservative Baptist Church is Seeking a Spirit-Led Associate Pastor of Worship Music and Youth
We are prayerfully searching for a God-called man to serve as our Associate Pastor of Worship Music and Youth. This individual will play a vital role in leading our church family in heartfelt, biblically sound worship. We desire someone with a deep love for Christ and a passion for traditional worship styles—including hymns, bluegrass gospel, and Southern Gospel music. In addition to leading worship, this pastor will have a heart for discipling and guiding our youth in their spiritual growth and walk with the Lord.

Job Description: Associate Pastor of Worship & Youth (Full-Time)

Position Summary:
The Associate Pastor of Worship & Youth is a full-time staff member of Youngers Creek Baptist Church, responsible for leading a comprehensive ministry in two vital areas of church life: Worship Music and Youth Discipleship (grades 6–12). This individual will work under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and in cooperation with the church leadership team to support the vision, mission, and spiritual health of the church.
He will be a committed Southern Baptist, demonstrate a strong personal walk with Christ, and serve as a role model to both youth and adults. He, his wife and family are expected to become a member of Youngers Creek Baptist Church and be active in all church-wide activities.
Qualifications:
- A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A strong calling to ministry, especially in the areas of worship leadership and youth discipleship.
- College and/or seminary, and/or equivalent experience of training in music, youth ministry, or related fields preferred.
- A team player with strong leadership, administrative, relational, and communication skills.
- A heart for evangelism and spiritual growth, both within the church and in the surrounding community.
- He must meet the requirements of Timothy 3.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Worship & Music Ministry
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of the church’s music and worship ministry.
- Plan and lead worship for Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and mid-week services.
- Direct the adult choir and organize other music groups as needed (instrumental, vocal, seasonal).
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan meaningful, Spirit-led worship services.
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers involved in music ministry.
- Select and maintain music materials, supplies, and equipment within budget.
- Provide or arrange appropriate music for weddings, funerals, revivals, and special services.
- Youth Ministry (Grades 6–12)
- Develop and lead a vibrant youth ministry focused on discipleship, evangelism, and fellowship.
- Organize weekly youth programs including Sunday School, Sunday evening discipleship, and Wednesday night Bible studies.
- Build strong relationships with youth and their families; offer support and counsel as needed.
- Plan and participate in youth retreats, mission trips, summer camps, and associational events.
- Coordinate youth fellowship activities, outreach programs, and service opportunities.
- Work with the Youth Council to plan and evaluate youth ministry goals.
- Provide leadership for youth participation in church-wide events, including Vacation Bible School.
General Ministry Responsibilities:
- Preach as requested by the Senior Pastor.
- Participate in the planning and execution of church-wide ministries and events.
- Support the work of church committees as an ex-officio member when requested.
- Attend and contribute to regular staff meetings and strategic ministry planning.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular office hours in consultation with the Senior Pastor.
- Submit annual ministry budgets for Worship and Youth to the Finance Committee.
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and use of music and youth equipment and spaces.
- Submit communications and announcements (e.g., for church bulletins, Facebook etc.) in a timely manner.
- Associate Pastor will have weekly accountability meetings with the Pastor, quarterly reviews, and an annual review.
Benefits:
- Vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation annually, one week available after six months. Vacation dates must be coordinated with the Senior Pastor.
- Sick Leave: Two weeks of paid sick leave annually.
- Personal Time: One day per week for personal use (non-cumulative, subject to call).
- Termination Notice: 30-day written notice by either the church or the Associate Pastor is required for termination of employment.

- Live a life above reproach, modeling spiritual maturity, humility, and integrity.
- Be passionate about reaching people with the Gospel and discipling believers.
- Demonstrate a teachable spirit, servant-leadership, and a heart for the local church.
- His wife and family must be supportive of the ministry.
Additional Requirements:
- Must live within 20-mile radius of the church, or be willing to be relocated. Relocation package offered.
- Looking for a Worship leader who will lead, play and sing Southern Gospel, Bluegrass gospel, and hymns. We are a conservative congregation, Christian contemporary music is not welcomed.
