Description

Anchor Baptist Church

Anchor Baptist Church is a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ, committed to His teachings, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. We are a family of faith committed to being an authentic Biblical expression of the Church. That means we are not shaped by the culture around us but by God’s great story, the Scriptural narrative to which we belong.

Core Competencies

  • Be committed to holiness and developing your personal walk with Jesus Christ in order to model and lead others in their faith.
  • If married, love your spouse according to Ephesians 5. Your spouse is to be your highest earthly priority.
  • If you have, or plan to have children, disciple your children to know Jesus Christ and love Him. The active and strategic discipleship of your own children must be a higher priority than discipleship of others.

Purpose

To partner with pastoral team, Family Ministry Council, children’s, youth, adult and senior adult ministries, and various committees to inspire and equip Anchor Baptist Church (ABC) members to be disciples and train up disciples. To develop and implement programs to reach family and young adults for salvation, discipleship, spiritual growth, and membership in ABC.

Focus on the younger generations both within the ABC and in the community. To oversee the ministries, systems, and environment of the church to ensure that we are working together to make disciples of the younger generation. Minister to families and young adults to build a comprehensive ministry which strengthens families in the Lord.

Work closely with the pastoral team and various ABC councils and committees to implement the church’s mission and provide leadership in helping young adults come into and grow their relationship with Jesus Christ through God’s Word and prayer, by encouraging obedience to Jesus Christ, by equipping the younger generation to walk in fellowship with each other, to share the Gospel, to discover and use their spiritual gifts to grow God’s church. Help young adults apply God’s Word in their lives and help others to know His Word.
