MINISTRY POSITION Title: Director of Pre-School and Children’s Ministry (Alvaton Campus)

Classification:Part-time

POSITION SUMMARY The DIRECTOR OF PRESCHOOL & CHILDREN will oversee, coordinate, plan, and ensure proper execution of all ministry related to preschool and children. Furthermore, they will constantly evaluate the preschool & children’s ministry to ensure proper alignment with the stated vision and mission of the church.

QUALIFICATIONS Spiritual:

? Is a born-again believer through faith in Jesus Christ, having made a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ, has been baptized by immersion as a believer, and evidences God’s call into full-time ministry. ? Is in complete agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and all other doctrinal stances of EBC, including the EBC Staff Covenant. ? Practices prayer, personal witnessing, and tithing (with the tithe being the beginning point of giving). ? Gives evidence of unquestioned moral rectitude in relation to fellow humans, in honesty, and in speech. ? Diligently promotes the spiritual fellowship and unity of the local church body. ? Shows evidence of control by the Holy Spirit in all aspects of personal life and ministry.

Personal:

? Has a love for Jesus Christ expressed as a love for the people of God and for the Bride of Christ. ? Maintains a fresh and vital daily prayer and devotional life. ? Possesses the ability to find a healthy balance between work and family responsibilities. ? Sets boundaries to protect character and integrity, including adherence to the EBC Staff Standards. ? Is deeply committed to personal, local, national, and global outreach/missions. ? Is a strong, positive, resilient leader passionate about results and reliable in execution. ? Can assess assumptions, implications, and practical consequences. ? Understands and develops strategy while working hands on to accomplish goals. ? Demonstrates mature judgment, integrity, and well-developed leadership skills to make intelligent decisions and manage complex initiatives. ? Possesses the ability to diplomatically change the status quo, set expectations, and hold individuals, under their supervision, accountable for results and achievement of set goals. ? Is committed to being a team player, taking interest in the spiritual growth of staff and volunteers.

Requirements:

? Prior experience ministering with children in a local church setting.? A bachelor’s degree in education, early childhood education, children’s ministry, biblical studies, ministry, or a related field. ? Is a proponent of team building and is a strong team player. ? Has superior people skills and can interact easily with all demographics. ? Possess the ability to utilize technology to create, communicate and collaborate with colleagues, church members and the community in an effort to successfully meet the requirements of this position. Technology includes but is not limited to: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Google Drive (sheets, slides), email, text, social media (Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube, etc..), REALM, LEADR and other online platforms.

Ministry Responsibilities:

? Ensure proper staffing of preschool and children’s areas during any ministry times including, but not limited to, Sundays, mid-week, special events, etc. ? Recruit and develop lay leaders for the children’s ministry through a variety of regular meetings and training opportunities. ? Organize and coordinate quality ministry and care for preschoolers and/or children during church- sponsored ministry events. ? Recruit, train, organize, and supervise paid preschool workers or manage those delegated this task. ? Provide leadership for the preschool and children’s Sunday School, organizing around the church’s commitment that “For the glory of God we are disciples who make disciples.” ? Be responsible for keeping all preschool/children’s ministry expenditures within the budgeted amount. ? Provide leadership for the overall ministry to children, birth through grade six. ? Provide leadership for the preschool and children’s Sunday School, organizing around the church’s commitment that “For the glory of God we are disciples who make disciples.” ? Develop and provide developmentally appropriate discipleship and mission education opportunities for preschoolers and children in cooperation with the total church disciple making strategy. ? Provide consistent communication and support to the parents of preschoolers and children, utilizing a family-friendly approach to ministry. ? Provide annual budget requests based on purposeful annual planning to the administrative pastor and the director of business operations. ? Responsible for keeping all preschool/children’s ministry expenditures within the budgeted amount. ? Working with the director of business operations to ensure proper security of children’s ministry areas, including physical security; maintain proper policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all preschool and children; and maintain background checks. ? Provide training and certification in the areas of children’s ministry safety through appropriate organizations such as Ministry Safe. ? May have global responsibilities. ? Fulfill other necessary tasks as assigned.
