Liberty Baptist Church is seeking a full time pastor. We are located just outside Auburn, Kentucky, less than a 30 minute drive from Bowling Green, one of Kentucky's fastest growing cities. We are looking to reach this growing community with the Gospel and to grow as disciples.
Qualities/Characteristics
The Pastor will have:
- A clear sense of calling to this ministry.
- A solid financial track record regarding personal/family finances as well as church/ministry finances.
- Good organizational and leadership skills.
- Solid preaching/teaching ability.
- Good administrative skills.
Duties
The Pastor will:
- Prepare for and conduct worship services – Sunday (morning and evening), Wednesday (evening), and any special services.
- Lead in observance of the ordinances.
- Lead the church in an effective evangelism and outreach program.
- Coordinate with the deacon body in leading the church to visit and meet the needs of the sick, homebound, widows and widowers, and bereaved.
- Officiate Biblical Weddings and Funerals upon request.
- Provide counseling (Premarital, grief, etc.)
- Advise and work with the deacons and committees as needed to accomplish goals and missions.
- Supervise and evaluate ministerial and support staff.
- Work with staff and committees to determine the effectiveness of ministries and missions of Liberty Baptist Church.
- Lead efforts for connecting with the unchurched in the community in a variety of ways to open doors for ministry and evangelism.
- Train and develop leaders in the church body.
- Lead efforts to increase attendance and participation in church worship and activities.
Affiliations and Doctrinal Alignment
The Pastor will:
- Support the ministry and witness of the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
- Support the Southern Baptist Convention as the primary means of involvement in international and North American missions.
- Be in doctrinal alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Compensation
The compensation package includes salary, housing allowance, Guidestone Annuity Contribution, travel and expense reimbursement, and an allowance for health insurance. Specific package can be customized to the particular circumstances.
