Church Secretary

Olivet is seeking a dedicated and servant-hearted Church Secretary to support and advance the mission of our church through excellent administrative, financial, and communication services. This vital role strengthens ministry effectiveness, fosters congregational connection, and supports our pastoral staff and ministry leaders in daily operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, integrity, warmth, and a Christ-centered attitude consistent with our doctrine and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for members, guests, and community inquiries.
• Provide administrative support to pastoral staff and ministry leaders, including scheduling, calendar management, and organized office systems.
• Prepare worship bulletins, update the church website and social media, and assist with ministry communications and promotional materials.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll coordination with CPA, and contribution tracking with year-end giving statements.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and assist with reporting requirements, including the Annual Church Profile for the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
• Maintain accurate membership and attendance records to support ministry planning and church reporting.
• Utilize church communication tools (email, texting services, etc.) to coordinate meetings and ministry activities.
• Complete additional ministry-related projects as assigned by the pastor or pastoral staff.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in basic office software and digital communication tools
• Financial recordkeeping experience preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Commitment to supporting the mission and ministry of the local church
