First Baptist Church, Sikeston, MO, a Southern Baptist Church, is prayerfully seeking the man selected by God to Shepherd our church as Pastor. We desire a pastor that will lead us in our goal to “Focus our ministries and worship on becoming an increasingly multi-generational church that teaches people about Jesus and leads them to accept Him as their Lord and Savior.”

 

The applicant for this full-time position is expected to meet the following essentials:

• Meets the qualifications of a church leader in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9.

• Affirms and believes in and will support the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

• Has earned a degree from a SBC seminary or an accredited seminary aligned with the SBC.  A Masters Degree is preferred.

• Has been ordained as a Southern Baptist Pastor and has a minimum of five years' experience as a Pastor in a Southern Baptist Church

 

About Sikeston, MO:  Sikeston is a small city with a population of 16,135 located in Southeast Missouri, just south of Cape Girardeau and half-way between St. Louis, MO and Memphis, TN.  We are at the crossroads of Interstates 55 and 57.  It has the benefits of small town living while still having access to larger metro areas and the opporunities associated with them.  Both public and private educational opportunities are available for grades PK-12.  Continuing education is provided locally by two satellite campuses:  Three Rivers Collegew and Southeast Missouri State University Sikeston Campus as well as the main campus of Southeast Missouri State University located in Cape Girardeau, MO 30 miles north of Sikeston.
