Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, KY is seeking candidates for a full-time Senior Pastor and will receive resumes until April 30, 2024. We are located in Pulaski County in Southcentral Kentucky. Pleasant Hill Baptist is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, Kentucky Baptist Convention, and Lake Cumberland Baptist Association, and adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church, and is responsible to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Senior Pastor will teach biblical revelation, engage in pastoral care, and provide administrative and spiritual leadership in all areas of church life and function, working collaboratively with the deacons and church staff to provide opportunities for Pleasant Hill Baptist members and guests to worship, to be discipled, and to grow in their faith and walk with God.
The Senior Pastor will be a man called of God and set apart to the Gospel ministry, in theological agreement with The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and committed to living and serving in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in Scripture (1 Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:5-9).
The Senior Pastor qualifications include three to five years in a ministry leadership role, or equivalent, and a Master’s Degree of Divinity or equivalent is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include experience managing staff (primary supervisor and administrator of church staff), effective interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in computer and other technology.
Pleasant Hill Baptist currently has a Sunday morning service with an average attendance in 2023 of 180 people. Our resident membership is 638. We also have discipleship opportunities for children, students and adults on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.
