Position: Nextgen Pastor
About our church: Crosspointe Baptist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky is currently seeking a Nextgen Pastor. We are a multi-generational congregation that has two contemporary Sunday morning worship services as well as a booming children’s and student ministry. We offer children’s church in our 10:30am worship service every Sunday and our student ministry (grades 6 th -12th) meet every Wednesday. Crosspointe leases part of our campus to a private Christian school (grades pre-K – 12th) and our church is surrounded by a large neighborhood. We are a very outward focused and mission minded church.
About our community: Owensboro is a growing city in western Kentucky with a population of over 60,000. Our city has numerous restaurants and shopping. Owensboro also has a Museum of Science and History and on the River Walk is Smothers Park which is named, “Top Playground In the World.” We are home to the Owensboro and Daviess County Public School Districts.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide vision, leadership, and direction of our NextGen Ministry (Nursery – 12th Grade)
- Lead our NextGen in evangelism, discipleship, and missional opportunities
- Lead and/or be actively involved in Vacation Bible School and its planning
- Build relationships with children, youth, and their families
- Enlist, equip, and encourage volunteers
- Oversee and develop an effective budget for NextGen ministry
Qualifications:
- Meet the spiritual, personal, and character qualifications in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
- Have a clear calling from God for NextGen ministry
- Have a growing relationship with Jesus
- Must be ordained or a candidate for ordination
- Must be a Southern Baptist in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
- Must have at least two years experience working in children’s and/or student ministry
- Must have or are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a ministry related field
- Must have a heart for people and be a team player
