Position Title: Director of Worship
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Supervises: Worship Ministry Volunteers including Musicians
Status: Part-time, Contractor - withholdings available - Possible Ministry Licensure
Main times of service will be weekly for practices/rehearsals and worship service. Other times may be needed on occasion (Vacation Bible School, Large Programs in life of Church, etc.)
Postion Overview:
In alignment with Brownsville Missionary’s mission and vision, the Director of Worship provides leadership for and plans worship services in conjunction and with support of a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Worship Responsibilities
- Selects music and coordinates practices to prepare for weekly worship service.
- Ensures all media is correct and loaded in system for in-house and online service applications.
- Development of leaders and volunteers to serve in worship ministries including, worship planning, worship leadership, musicianship, and technology.
- Works to involve the congregation in worship by providing an atmosphere conducive to worship, and opportunities to serve.
- Oversees the establishment and maintenance the budget for the worship ministry.
- Other duties as assigned and related to this position.

- A maturing believer in Christ and someone that can confirm the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message without reservation.
- Desire to lead, by serving along side of the members of Brownsville Missionary to promote the mission and vision of the church. We Exist to KNOW | LOVE | SERVE God and our Neighbors.
- Willingness and ability to become an active member of Brownsville Missionary.
- Organized leader with the ability to start and complete tasks while working independently.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with and maintain healthy relationships with staff, volunteers, and members of the congregation and community.
2. Worship Skills and Attributes:
1. Familiar with songs and music that have rich history in a Southern Baptist Church, as well as, new(er) songs and music that promote congregational singing.
2. Vocal ability that enables leadership of the worship team and congregation.
3. Desirable to have abilities to play the guitar/piano to assist in congregational worship.
4. Strong ability and/or desire and willingness to learn and be proficient in presenting software and audio/video technology.
