ARMSTRONG MILL CAMPUS AND TEACHING PASTOR

Immanuel Baptist Church (IBC) is a vibrant, multi-site church based in Lexington, Kentucky. Our mission: to lead people to Jesus and equip disciples in their faith. Each campus functions as a local expression of our broader community - distinct in culture and leadership, yet united in vision and gospel purpose.

Role Overview

As our Campus & Teaching Pastor at the Armstrong Mill location, you will:

Teach Bible-based sermons regularly on Sunday mornings (two services at 9:00 & 10:30 am).

  • Shepherd and care for the local congregation - building relationships, leading pastoral care, baptisms, and community outreach.
  • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team for the entire IBC family, contributing to long-term vision, strategy, and cross-campus initiatives.

Your leadership will carry both local responsibility for Armstrong Mill and broader influence across Immanuel’s campuses.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Worship

  • Prepare and deliver engaging, scripture-based sermons weekly. (All our campuses teach the same text, mostly expository.)
  • Collaborate with the worship team and media/tech staff to create vibrant Sunday experiences.
  • Ensure a consistent theological and stylistic expression across the IBC brand.

2. Pastoral Leadership & Discipleship

  • Cultivate discipleship through small groups, vision casting, volunteer development, and member care.
  • Oversee baptisms, pathway classes (e.g., Discover Immanuel), weddings, funerals, and counseling as needed.
  • Mobilize outreach and community service efforts at Armstrong Mill.

3. Executive Team Collaboration

  • Participate in Executive Leadership Team and Teaching Team meetings to shape church-wide vision and strategy.
  • Provide insights for multi-site planning and help coordinate current campuses or expansions.
  • Model “family first” leadership - balancing local campus needs alongside church-wide objectives.

4. Campus Administration & Culture

  • Develop campus staff & volunteers; build a healthy leadership culture.
  • Collaborate with other campus pastors to ensure consistency in discipleship, worship, and administrative systems.
  • Help prepare and oversee the campus budget and expenditures.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Spiritual Maturity & Theology: Firm commitment to gospel-driven, Bible-centered teaching.
  • Experience: Proven pastoral and preaching track record; ideally in multi-site context.
  • Leadership: Skilled collaborator, mentor, visionary builder.
  • Communication: Clear, engaging public speaker, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Team Player: Able to contribute to executive leadership and local team development.
  • Alignment: Resonates with IBC’s mission, values, and multi-site church culture.
