ARMSTRONG MILL CAMPUS AND TEACHING PASTOR
Immanuel Baptist Church (IBC) is a vibrant, multi-site church based in Lexington, Kentucky. Our mission: to lead people to Jesus and equip disciples in their faith. Each campus functions as a local expression of our broader community - distinct in culture and leadership, yet united in vision and gospel purpose.
Role Overview
As our Campus & Teaching Pastor at the Armstrong Mill location, you will:
Teach Bible-based sermons regularly on Sunday mornings (two services at 9:00 & 10:30 am).
- Shepherd and care for the local congregation - building relationships, leading pastoral care, baptisms, and community outreach.
- Serve on the Executive Leadership Team for the entire IBC family, contributing to long-term vision, strategy, and cross-campus initiatives.
Your leadership will carry both local responsibility for Armstrong Mill and broader influence across Immanuel’s campuses.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Worship
- Prepare and deliver engaging, scripture-based sermons weekly. (All our campuses teach the same text, mostly expository.)
- Collaborate with the worship team and media/tech staff to create vibrant Sunday experiences.
- Ensure a consistent theological and stylistic expression across the IBC brand.
2. Pastoral Leadership & Discipleship
- Cultivate discipleship through small groups, vision casting, volunteer development, and member care.
- Oversee baptisms, pathway classes (e.g., Discover Immanuel), weddings, funerals, and counseling as needed.
- Mobilize outreach and community service efforts at Armstrong Mill.
3. Executive Team Collaboration
- Participate in Executive Leadership Team and Teaching Team meetings to shape church-wide vision and strategy.
- Provide insights for multi-site planning and help coordinate current campuses or expansions.
- Model “family first” leadership - balancing local campus needs alongside church-wide objectives.
4. Campus Administration & Culture
- Develop campus staff & volunteers; build a healthy leadership culture.
- Collaborate with other campus pastors to ensure consistency in discipleship, worship, and administrative systems.
- Help prepare and oversee the campus budget and expenditures.

- Spiritual Maturity & Theology: Firm commitment to gospel-driven, Bible-centered teaching.
- Experience: Proven pastoral and preaching track record; ideally in multi-site context.
- Leadership: Skilled collaborator, mentor, visionary builder.
- Communication: Clear, engaging public speaker, strong interpersonal skills.
- Team Player: Able to contribute to executive leadership and local team development.
