Position Title: Associate Pastor
Location: Faith Baptist Church – Frankfort, KY
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Position Type: Part-Time
Salary: $12,000 annually
Overview
The responsibilities of this position include development, implementation, and management of the church's educational, discipleship, and outreach ministries. A particular emphasis will be placed on fostering leadership skills and engaging volunteers. This position will direct and oversee all significant discipleship initiatives within the church, which include Sunday School, Small Groups, New Believers and New Member Classes, and Discipleship Training, with the aim of facilitating spiritual growth as they adhere to The Great Commission.
Discipleship and Outreach Duties
- Assist the Senior Pastor develop, implement, and oversee an intentional discipleship plan (New Believers/Member Classes and Discipleship Training) for the church. (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47)
- Organize and evaluate ministries of the church as part of the intentional discipleship plan. (Eph. 4:1-6, 1 Thess. 4:1-8, Heb. 10:23-25)
- Assist the Senior Pastor as needed in pastoral care of church members, preaching, teaching, counseling, or any other duties as assigned. (1 Peter 5:1-5, 2 Tim. 4:1-5)
- Assist the Senior Pastor with internal and external outreach ministry. Track visitors’ cards, shut-in members, and coordinate visits with the Deacons. Oversee website and app development and content. Assist with the coordination of facility usage and community events. (James 1:27, 1 Peter 3:15)
Administrative Duties
- Assist in the development of the church calendar and budget. Attend and participate in Business Meetings, Deacon Meetings, and Staff Meetings.
- Set annual goals, ministry objectives, and emphasis for the discipleship ministry in conjunction with church leadership according to the overall church vision.
- Supervise and conduct annual evaluations of the custodial staff, Worship Leader, and Youth Leader.
- Serve as staff liaison on the Facilities Trustees Team, Nominating Committee, and any other committee as deemed necessary by the Senior Pastor.
- Cooperating with associational, state, and national convention leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern represents church interests in these matters.
Pastoral Qualifications
- Experienced ordained spiritual leader/overseer that demonstrates a deep commitment to Christ and displays a lifestyle that is consistent with this calling. Mature, growing disciple of Jesus Christ who is committed to reading scripture, praying, and obeying God in all things. (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 3:5-9, Acts 20:28, 1 Pet. 2:1-3, Romans 12)
- Sets the example as a disciple-maker by personally investing in church members and leaders. (Matt. 28:18-20, 1 Tim. 4:11-16, 2 Tim. 2:1-2)
- Equips every believer for the work of ministry by delegating responsibility, developing new leaders, enlisting volunteers, and communicating, coordinating, and collaborating with lay leaders. (Eph. 4:11-16, 1 Thes. 5:12-13, Titus 1:5-9)
- Fully embraces the doctrinal and theological beliefs expressed in the Constitution and By-Laws of Faith Baptist Church and the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
