Ballardsville Baptist Church is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Admin & Communications Assistant to join our team. This part-time role is essential in streamlining communication efforts, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring our message is clearly and consistently shared across all platforms. ABOUT US:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Communication & Efficiency
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the church’s mission and enhances internal and external communication.
    • Maintain a consistent and engaging brand voice across all platforms.
    • Streamline communication workflows to improve clarity, timeliness, and accessibility of information for staff and congregation.

  • Content Creation
    • Write compelling and informative content for the church website, social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), and email newsletters.
    • Design visually appealing graphics (flyers, posters, social media visuals) using tools such as Canva and Publisher.
    • Produce short-form video content (e.g., testimonials, announcements, event promotions) for use in services, on social media, and on the website.

     

  • Social Media Management
    • Plan, create, and manage engaging content across all church social media platforms to foster community and increase engagement.
    • Monitor trends and analytics to refine strategies and maximize reach.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to comments and inquiries.
    • Regularly update and maintain the church website to ensure it remains current, user-friendly, and informative.
    • Collaborate with ministry leaders to keep event calendars, announcements, and resources up to date.

     

  • Administrative Support:
    • Administrative duties will comprise approximately 20% of this position.
    • Assist pastors and staff with administrative responsibilities (making copies, phone calls, ordering supplies, and assisting with managing church initiatives).
    • Assist pastors and staff with communication needs (e.g., crafting announcements, preparing presentations).
    • Manage and maintain membership and communication databases and resources.

  • Ministry Support:
    • Be an active member of the church’s overall ministry.
    • Engage church guests, serve in ministries, and be a team player.
    • Show initiative to be involved and expand competencies related to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Faith Commitment: Demonstrates a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with Baptist beliefs. Must be or be willing to become a member of Ballardsville Baptist Church.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: content creation, social media management, or graphic design, or administrative support.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Digital Proficiency:
    • Skilled in managing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram).
    • Familiar with content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Design & Media Tools:
    • Working knowledge of design and media software, including Canva, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Elements (Photo/Video).
  • Project Management:
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Team & Ministry Mindset:
    • Positive, collaborative team player with a heart for ministry and a passion for serving the church community.
  • Work Ethic:
    • Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to excellence in all tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Part-time position 4 days/week (up to 30 hours/week).
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • After 6-months, two weeks of vacation annually w/longevity increases.
  • Flexible working environment.
